Colonoscopy is the endoscopic examination of the lower part of the gastrointestinal system. During this examination the large bowel (from rectum up to the ileocecal valve) and the distal part of the small bowel are visualized. 

During this procedure following interventions are performed;

• biopsy

• endoscopic clipping in case of bleeding

• removal of polyps
