Since 1999, the Arabkir Medical Center has developed the Decentralized Children’s Rehabilitation Services of Armenia program. Within this framework, the ArBeS Health Center was established in Yerevan, and children’s rehabilitation services have been created in regional centers.
In collaboration with UNICEF, the medical center has also authored the Early Detection and Early Intervention of Child Development Problems program. Through these multilayered initiatives, the center works closely with leading international medical institutions, organizations, and specialists. Recognizing its large-scale contributions, the World Health Organization granted Arabkir Medical Center the status of a WHO Collaborating Center in 2025 — an honor typically awarded to research institutes, universities, and academic departments collaborating with WHO in healthcare development.
The medical center is a leader in several specialized programs. Its Audiology Center is the largest pediatric center in Armenia for clinical examinations and medical-psychological-pedagogical rehabilitation of children with hearing impairments.
The Neurology and Epileptology Service has been performing stereo-EEG since 2023 — a high-tech procedure to precisely locate the source of epileptic seizures for subsequent ablation or surgical removal. The service also provides long-term and short-term video-EEG monitoring, and develops individualized ketogenic diets for the treatment of severe epilepsy, ensuring a patient-centered approach.
Arabkir Medical Center continues to carry out large-scale healthcare initiatives for children and adults, establishing itself as a trusted partner in health.
